Retrograde Ejaculation

Retrograde ejaculation is the escaping of the semen from the urinary canal to the urinary bladder, which is called retrograde, instead of the penis, during ejaculation.

Under normal conditions, sperm that come to the prostate gland through the sperm duct during orgasm combine with the fluids produced by the prostate gland to form semen. This semen passes through the urethra, the urethra, and reaches the tip of the penis, and ejaculation occurs. The passage of sperm passing through the urinary canal to the bladder, that is, the urinary bladder, is prevented by the contraction of the muscles in the bladder neck. The same muscles also keep the urine inside the bladder. However, retrograde ejaculation prevents this

Retrograde Ejaculation and Infertility Relationship

The absence of ejaculation during sexual intercourse will prevent pregnancy.

It is absolutely necessary to consult a urologist for treatment. In treatment, drugs that enable the muscles of the bladder neck to work can be given.

In cases that do not respond to treatment, if the number of sperm escaping into the urinary bladder is sufficient, these sperm are collected from the urinary bladder and after washing with special methods, vaccination is performed. Even if the sperm count is not sufficient, in vitro fertilization with these sperms may be an alternative.
